Park Slope Patch: Peggy Lillis Foundation Keeps Roots in Park Slope

“The Peggy Lillis Memorial Foundation (PLMF) was founded in April 2010 in Park Slope by two brothers in response to the sudden death of their mother from C. diff. PLMF is deeply rooted in Brooklyn where both Peggy and her sons were born and raised, and where her sons currently live.Patch Logo

Christian John Lillis, one of the founders of the foundation, shared a letter with Patch on their decision to keep their primary fundraiser in Park Slope, but also branch out.

‘Last year, more than 150 people attended our gala at the Dyker Beach Club less than 48 hours after Super-Storm Sandy hit the community,’ he wrote. ‘This year, we determined to honor that spirit of fierce loyalty by returning to the same venue. We will pay tribute to some of the individual determination and generosity at the root of our collective resilience.'”
