Jessicha W.
Welcome to my nightmare. In December 2020, I had surgery on my arm, and I’m assuming the facility, as well as recovery antibiotics, are what began my horrible journey with this plague of an illness.
In February, I began having horrible stomach pains and non-stop watery diarrhea. I went into the hospital and was told I tested positive for C. diff. Between then and a week before my wedding, I was admitted to the hospital a total of three times for about a week each time. I was put on vancomycin and metronidazole each time and was sent home with it. It appeared to clear up even though I had damage to my small intestine.
It is now November 2 and I am 20 weeks pregnant. For the past week, I have had up to 10 bouts a day of a toilet full of nothing but bloody mucus and severe stomach pain–and you guessed it, I am C. diff positive once again. I am at the end of my rope, and I am told there is pretty much nothing they can do, as I am pregnant and unable to receive the FMT. I honestly feel like I am dying during each trip to the bathroom. I am screaming from the cramps during bowel evacuation, and I am so weak and continue to lose weight. I feel hopeless. There needs to be more help for this nasty illness.
