Fresh off Peggy Lillis Foundation’s most successful FIGHT C. DIFF Gala, our Board member Jeff Pollack organized an amazing concert, Music Matters, featuring Hip Pocket at The Cutting Room in New York City.
Celebrating the band’s 19.5-year anniversary, Music Matters raised more than $18,000 to support PLF’s mission of combating C. diff infections. In addition to Jeff, Hip Pocket is Miles Rubin, Maury Moskowitz, Joe Raposo, Phil Dessinger and Mark Rechler.
Paying tribute to legendary rockers Gregg Allman, Levon Helm and Butch Trucks, Hip Pocket’s nearly two-hour long set featured “The Night They Drove Dixie Down”, “Ain’t Wasting Time No More”, “One Way Out”, and “Whipping Post.”
The band was joined on stage for several numbers by an amazing horn section featuring Carter Yasutake, Jason Disu, Mike McGarril, and Nick Roseboro. Greg Allman Band lead guitarist Scott Sharrard also joined the band for several songs.
The event has an excellent silent auction with items donated from Foot Locker, Bonnie Briar Country Club, the Lobster Dock, and many others.
We are deeply grateful to our board member, Jeff, his bandmates in Hip Pocket, the wonderful staff at The Cutting Room, everyone who joined us on November 9th and all who gave in honor of Music Matters.
