On Saturday, June 2, the family of Judy Dexter held their fifth annual Toss to Stop C. diff Loss Memorial Picnic and Cornhole Tournament. Despite a late afternoon thunderstorm, the Dexters and their guests raised more than $10,000.

As always, the Dexters held a fantastic event that made all their guests feel right at home. The family’s kindness, care and passion to combat the disease that claimed their wife and mother is always evident. From homemade cookies and treats to an American Ninja Warrior-inspired bouncy house, the Dexters upped their game this year as they do with each successive event. This year featured three great raffle prizes: a Fiesta basket, a Maryland-themed basket and a handmade door wreathe, all donated by Judy’s daughters-in-law.

PLF executive director Christian John Lillis and his husband, Chris, welcomed guests and shared information about how to fight C. diff. Kirsten Earp and Karen Dexter took turns painting faces and playing crafts with the children in attendance.

This year’s cornhole champions were Rich Dexter and Cynthia Bens, with Heather Dexter and Kirsten Earp taking second place and Brian Costanzo and Justin Earp taking third.

Everyone at PLF is grateful to have the Dexters as part of our extended family. We need families like them in every state spreading awareness and raising money to fuel the movement to combat C. diff.
